T   Issues in the conflict HDC vs. HLH/FoH:

The unilateral physical take-over of Mulbadaw Farm and Central Maintenance and Service Centre by order from the  Foundation Friends of Haydom in Norway; without producing any court injunction or any legal document authorizing such a take-over.

The conduct of the chairman of the Board of Directors of Haydom Development Company Ltd; his lack of loyalty to lawful decisions made by the Board in 2006 and his unauthorized and secret dealings with Joseph Tadayo leading up to the unilateral physical take-over mentioned above.

The deceit by FoH in fulfilling their own board decision of October 2005 in financing HDC Ltd

The lack of registration of the entity running Mulbadaw Farm and Central Maintenance and Service Centre after 12th August 2006; how can a foreign foundation own and run businesses in Tanzania without being registered in Tanzania?

The suspicion of corruption aimed at avoiding the case to be considered by the court.

Friends of Haydom in Norway running a “charity project” on illegally acquired land?

Has the Friends of Haydom (FoH) in Norway given full and correct information to BRELA about ownership and Board of Directors?

Information to the Hospital Board, Haydom Lutheran Hospital

We understand that the “Haydom Farm” is an issue to be discussed by the Board of Haydom Lutheran Hospital this month.  This coincides with the 5th anniversary of the armed (by rungu) take-over of Mulbadaw and CMSC from HDC by the Friends of Haydom in Norway.  The following might be of interest to members of the Hospital Board:

Haydom Farm and Development Company Limited” (HFDC) was registered by BRELA 23rd. June 2010, with registration number 77061.  According to information HDC received shortly before the registration, the Board of Directors are:  Olaf Myklatun (chairman), Martin Vold, Øystein Evjen Olsen, Isaack Malleyeck and Emanuel Mighay.

HLH Farm and Development Limited” (HLHDF)” was registered on 25th May 2008 with registration number 65699.  This company is supposed to own the farm whilst Haydom Farm and Development Company Limited” (HFDC) is supposed to rent the farm from HLHDF.  There is no information on www.mulbadaw.com about the members of Board of Directors of the owning company.  The real Board of Directors is probably one and the same for these two companies, namely “The Farm Group” of Friends of Haydom in Norway as listed below.

Haydom Farm is a Norwegian enterprise

Information on www.mulbadaw.com says that the “farm group” of Friends of Haydom has the following members:

Friends of Haydom(FoH)/Stiftelsen Haydoms Venner (SHV) Farmgroup:

There are good reasons to assume that the real “Board of Directors” of HFDC and HLHDF is in Norway and is probably identical to the “Farm group” of Friends of Haydom in Norway.

Lutheran land-grabbing?

One interesting aspect of the faming business in Tanzania by the Friends of Haydom is the “mission farm”.  People in Norway can donate 12 000 NOK (about 2 000 $) and deduct this from their income tax slip; the farm being considered as charity/religious activity.

Has land-grabbing again become part of the missionary work?

Questions to be asked

In a letter to Joseph Tadoyo (Liquidator of the Mulbadaw Wheat Company Limited) dated 2nd June 2006 the Medical Director of HLH, Øystein Olsen, makes it clear that he sees HLH as the buyer of the Mulbadaw farm. This is coherent with the statement signed by Øystein Olsen (HLH) and Harald Haagensen (FoH) dated 10th August 2006 and Olsen’s press release from Sept. 2006 where he explicit states that HLH has bought the Mulbadaw farm and the Central Maintenance Service Center.

The board of Haydom Lutheran Hospital and the Diocese (ELCT) is recommended to ask the following questions:

1.     When did HLH (owned by the Diocese of Mbulu) sell the Mulbadaw farm and the Central Maintenance Service Center to HLH Farm and Development Ltd (HLHFD)?

2.     How was this sale dealt with by the Diocese and in what organs? What was the price?

3.     Ask to see the constitution of HLHDF. Who are the board members of HLHFD, and who has the real power in the board (Norwegians or Tanzanians)?

4.     Who owns the shares in HLHFD?

5f    If the real power of HLHFD is in the hands of Norwegians, how does this comply with Tanzanian law demanding Tanzanian control over Tanzanian land?
